Turlach Boylan is the oldest in a musical family from Glenullin, Co Derry, but has lived in the USA since 1989. He is an accomplished player of flute, tenor banjo, and mandolin.
Turlach made a couple of flute albums and the magazine Dirty Linen said something complimentary. Since moving to Kansas City in 2006, he has fortified himself by dealing with a horde of adoptive, foster and stepchildren, along with a stream of beginning whistle students. The Missouri Folk Arts Commission recognized him as something or other.
Expect a week of coaxing, wheedling and occasional begging from a soft-spoken
instructor with an elusive sense of humour.
