Hi folks,

Sorry for the delay in opening registration! We’ve worked through the issues with the payment code, and we’re ready to open registration soon!

If you were already registered for our Physical Camp, you should have received another email with your registration link. The private re-registration opens tomorrow, July 12 in the morning. The private registration will last for two days, so there’s no major rush. We do ask that everyone that was registered for the physical camp use the registration form, even if you’re not planning on attending, so that we can learn your preference for your deposit (Unless you’ve already asked for a refund).

Any remaining class slots will be offered in a new public registration period that opens Tuesday, July 14!

We realize that it’s a disappointment that we can’t do the regular camp to celebrate or 10th Camp, but we’re excited about all of the offerings that we’re putting together for this virtual camp! (And a few surprises that we haven’t announced!)

Don’t forget that you can look through the daily schedule of events on our Schedule Page, and switch the calendar to display in your home timezone!

And we want to reassure everyone that the technology won’t be too hard to deal with! Classes and most events will be running on Zoom, which many of you are already familiar with. There will be some events, like the concert, which will be using YouTube Live. So if you have a computer or tablet, and broadband internet, you will be fine!

We will put out a tech primer as the camp approaches, we will have a “practice run” ahead of time so that you can test your setup, and then we plan to have tech support available all day long in the “student hangout” (Stone Circle) Zoom room, so that if you’re having technical difficulties, we can try to help!

We’re looking forward to “seeing” you for our first (and hopefully only) virtual Portal Irish Music Week!

Sincerely,

Pete, Susan, and the entire PIMW Staff
