Greetings, fans of PIMW!
It’s hard to believe it’s that time again already! With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, it must be time to think about registering for Portal! Registration will open tomorrow morning, March 1, 2018.
The 2018 PIMW will run Thursday Oct. 4 thru Monday Oct. 8 in Portal, Arizona. (The travel days are October 3rd and 9th). As usual, the camp encompasses Columbus Day, so people that have “bank holidays” off can save a vacation day.
We’re pleased to announce that both John Whelan and Matt Heaton will be back this year! Here’s your staff lineup:
- Brian Conway – Fiddle
- Marla Fibish – Mandolin I & II
- John Whelan – Button Accordion
- Shannon Heaton – Flute
- Matt Heaton – Accompaniment (guitar, bouzouki)
- Pete Strickler – Tenor Banjo
- Colin Lindsay – “Not so fast” Fiddle, Concertina
- Brian Lanni – Step and Set Dancing
Keep in mind that classes and the all-inclusive lodging at the Portal Peak Lodge have been known to fill up in the first 24-48 hours of registration, so it’s good to be prepared for registering early!
We’re looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces this October!
Sincerely,
Susan, Pete, and the PIMW Staff.
