Greetings, friends of P.I.M.W.
Here’s hoping you all had a good St. Paddy’s week last week! It’s time once again for us to open up registration for this year’s camp to the general public. We had already opened up early registration to our most ardent supporters from the past, and the camp has already gotten a massive response. So hurry with your registration, or you may find yourself wait-listed!
This year’s classes will run from Thursday, October 6 through Monday, October 10. (Which makes the travel days October 5 and 11).
The staff will look familiar this year, with one exception. We’re proud to announce that Isaac Alderson will be joining us this year to teach Flute and Whistle! Isaac is a hot player in the trad music scene these days, with his bands The Bronx Boys, Comas, and The Yanks. In 2002, Isaac became the first American to win an unprecedented THREE All-Ireland championships in one year, including Uilleann Pipes, Flute, and Whistle! We’re sure that Isaac will be a welcome addition to the P.I.M.W. family.
Classes will include:
Fiddle – Brian Conway
Mandolin – Marla Fibish
Flute, Whistle – Isaac Alderson
Tenor Banjo – Pete Strickler
Accompaniment – Matt Heaton
Concertina, Fiddle – Colin Lindsay
And we will be bringing back the ceili dancing with Brian Lanni this year, as well as all of the other afternoon workshops and activities that you’ve grown to love!
Again, space is VERY limited this year, so get your registrations in soon, and we look forward to seeing the old friends and new faces, alike. REGISTRATION LINK
Sincerely,
Susan, and the entire Portal Irish Music Week staff.
