Hello, friends of P.I.M.W!
It’s hard to believe that things are in motion again for Portal! 2020 is our TENTH year at Portal Irish Music Week, and we are really excited about our instructor lineup this year. Instructors will include:
- Brian Conway – Fiddle
- Shannon Heaton – Flute/Whistle
- Marla Fibish – Mandolin (I & II)
- John Whelan – Accordion
- Frances Cunningham – Accompaniment
- Pete Strickler – Tenor Banjo
- Colin Lindsay – Fiddle (Not so fast), Concertina
- Brian & Mary Lanni – Irish Dance
For the first time ever, we will have a female accompaniment instructor in Frances Cunningham! Frances spent 5 years playing bouzouki at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, and we’re really excited to have her join our ever-growing Portal family!
Being that this is a milestone for P.I.M.W., we are anticipating a fairly quick sellout! So we are offering previous camp attendees the ability to register before the general public.
Private registration will open this Sunday, March 1.
Previous students should have already received an invitation email with a unique registration code. Please use your private link to register if you plan on registering before March 3.
There have been a few incidents where people’s emails have changed, and we have some data loss from 2014. If you are a previous camp attendee, and you did NOT receive an invitation email, first check your spam filter or folder. If you still don’t have an invite, and you would like one, email Pete – itmbanjo@gmail.com, with your name, email, and the year you attended, and he can get you a new registration code!
General camp registration begins on Tuesday, March 3. Also, please note that non-student companions are now registered on the same form as the student! If you are a companion, please register with your student companion! The registration form will also allow you to purchase a tee-shirt, which will be delivered to you at camp. And this year’s registration form will also total all of your charges for you as you make your selections, so that it is easier to make choices and prepare for the August payment deadline.
We can’t wait to see everyone in Arizona in October!
